An authentic Strawberry Daiquiri is made with fresh ingredients.
If you have only experienced the frozen version you are in for a treat!
Believe it or not you do not need a blender or some kind of flavored strawberry syrup or liqueur.
You do need to have a few basic bar tools like a cocktail shaker, a muddle and a fine strainer.
Fine straining is important as you do not want to have little pieces of pulp floating around in your cocktail.
We wanted to keep it simple and refreshing, so here it is, the classic way to make an amazingly fresh Strawberry Daiquiri.

 Strawberry Daiquiri Recipe

Original Strawberry Daiquiri Recipe

 The Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ - 2 ounces of white rum (how strong do you like it, quality of rum
  • ½ ounce of Fresh Lime Juice (use fresh limes only)
  • ¼ ounce of simple syrup
  • 6-8 medium sized Fresh Strawberries (yes, the real thing only please)
  • ice (enough to fill your shaker, and chill your glass)

The Preparation:

  • Chill the glass you intend to serve by filling it with ice water and set it aside.
  • Clean and hull the strawberries and drop them into your cocktail shaker.
  • Muddle the strawberries crushing them to release all the juices.
  • Now, add the white rum, fresh lime juice and simple syrup.
  • Stir these ingredients getting as much of the juice out of the strawberries as you can.
  • Next, pack the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for at least 10-15 seconds.

The Finish:

  • Empty the ice water from your chilled glass
  • Fine strain your fresh Strawberry Daiquiri into a chilled martini glass.
Tips and Tricks:
  • Many establishments sugar coat the rim of the glass for aesthetics. If you choose to do this you can use a lime wedge to wet the rim or for a super sticking sweet rim use honey instead.
  • Instead of pre chilling your glass with ice water, place it in the freezer.
  • Substitute agave nectar, liquid sugar free sweetener, or honey sweetener for simple syrup.
